What happens if the item I want is out of stock — including sale items?
If an item is out of stock you can sign up for restock notifications by entering your email address on the product page. Please note: sale items may not be restocked, and we do not offer price adjustments if a promotion ends before the item becomes available again.
Does adding an item to my cart reserve it? What if the product is out of stock?
Adding an item to your cart does not reserve it — products are only yours once you complete checkout. If the item you want is out of stock and not limited edition, you can sign up for restock alerts by entering your email on the product page.
Where are tarte™ cosmetics made?
Our formulas & products are made in the US, Europe & other countries.
Are tarte™ products safe for people with allergies?
We can’t guarantee that our products are made in an allergen-free environment. However, you’ll find the full ingredient list on each product page under the “Ingredients” tab. We recommend reviewing it carefully if you have sensitivities or allergies.
What are tarte™ guidelines for international products?
tarte™ ensures that all ingredients and finished formulas meet U.S. FDA & International regulatory requirements. We partner only with globally respected manufacturers who adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards for product safety, cleanliness, and quality. Each formula is tested to ensure it meets our internal quality standards.
Does tarte™ offer vegan products?
Yes! Many tarte™ products are vegan. If a product is vegan, you’ll see it clearly labeled on the product detail page. You can also shop our full vegan collection here.
Why can’t some tarte™ products be shipped internationally or with express shipping?
Certain products can’t be shipped internationally or by express delivery due to ingredient restrictions or local shipping regulations. If an item has shipping limitations, you’ll see a notice directly on the product detail page—such as restrictions for Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or international addresses.

Do you test on animals? Is tarte™ cruelty-free?
No, we do not test on animals. tarte™ is a certified cruelty-free brand and we’re also PETA approved.
Are tarte™ products gluten-free?
Yes. tarte™ products are formulated without gluten, but we can’t guarantee they were made in an allergen-free facility.

How much does shipping cost?
Standard shipping is free on all orders valid from March 8, 2026 at 12 AM ET through March 15, 2026 at 9 AM ET.
Standard shipping is free on U.S. orders of $25 USD or more — including Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico. No promo code needed. Just choose standard shipping at checkout and it’s on us. Expedited shipping options are available for an additional fee depending on your location and prices are listed at checkout. Please note: FedEx Overnight; 2 Day shipping refers to the time after the package has left the warehouse, which may take 1-2 business days.
Will I get a refund for the shipping if I return my order?
If you paid for shipping, standard or expedited, those shipping fees are non-refundable.
We’ll refund the cost of the returned products (minus the $5 return handling fee for U.S. orders), but the original shipping charges are not included in the refund.
Tip: To avoid paying for shipping, we offer free standard shipping on qualifying U.S. orders of $40 USD or more, including Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico. Expedited shipping options are available for an additional fee depending on your location, and prices are listed at checkout.

What international shipping methods does tarte™ offer?
We offer several international shipping options. Available methods vary by country and will be shown at checkout based on your location: Standard (Duties and Taxes Paid) Duties, taxes, and brokerage fees are included in the total price at checkout, so there’s nothing due at delivery. If your country qualifies for free shipping and you meet the minimum spend, this will be your default shipping option. Express (Duties and Taxes Paid) This is our expedited international shipping option. All duties, taxes, and fees are included in your total at checkout. No additional payments will be required when your order arrives.
Can customs delays affect my delivery?
Yes. International shipments are subject to customs clearance procedures in the destination country. These inspections may delay your delivery beyond the original estimated timeframe shown at checkout.
Can international orders ship to multiple addresses?
No. We can only ship to one address per international order. If you’d like to ship to multiple addresses, please place a separate order for each destination.
How long does it take to process international orders?
Most international orders are processed within 1 to 2 business days (Monday through Friday, excluding holidays). Delays may occur during high volume periods.

Can I update my shipping address after I place my order?
We’re unable to make changes to shipping addresses after an order is placed. Please double-check your shipping information before completing checkout — including any saved addresses in third-party payment methods like PayPal, Apple Pay, or Amazon Pay — to avoid delivery issues.
Does tarte™ ship to APO or military addresses?
Yes. Due to military handling time, delivery may take up to 30+ days.
Does tarte™ ship to P.O. Boxes?
Yes, but only with standard shipping. Expedited shipping requires a street address.
How long does tarte™ U.S. shipping take?
Contiguous US: 7–10 business days. Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico.: 15+ business days.
What carrier does tarte™ use for U.S. shipping?
For U.S. orders, tarte™ may use DHLec, FedEx Ground, or FedEx SmartPost (which ships with FedEx and is delivered by your local USPS), and USPS. Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico may be sent via DHLec, USPS or FedEx standard shipping only.
